Dreamfinder and Figment Are Reuniting as EPCOT’s Imagination Pavilion Heads for a Refurbishment
A little spark of imagination is getting ready to shine brighter at EPCOT. Disney has confirmed that the Imagination pavilion will receive a refurbishment, and perhaps the biggest piece of news for longtime EPCOT fans is that Dreamfinder is officially returning alongside Figment.

The announcement came during the closing moments of the Disney Experiences showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum shared that Figment will remain part of EPCOT while reuniting with the character who first introduced him to guests more than four decades ago. Disney has not yet revealed exactly what the refurbished pavilion or attraction will include, with more details expected in the future.
Dreamfinder and Figment originally starred together when Journey Into Imagination opened at EPCOT in 1983. Dreamfinder traveled through the attraction collecting sounds, colors, ideas, and other sparks of creativity before introducing guests to his purple dragon companion. Dreamfinder remained part of the attraction until 1998, while Figment continued through the pavilion’s later versions and eventually grew into one of EPCOT’s most recognizable characters.

Figment has enjoyed quite the resurgence in recent years, appearing throughout EPCOT merchandise, festivals, and character experiences. Now, bringing Dreamfinder back into the picture reconnects the little purple dragon with a major piece of his history and gives longtime EPCOT fans something they have been hoping to see for years. Exactly what their reunion looks like inside the reimagined pavilion remains under wraps, but one thing is certain: there is plenty of room for imagination to run wild.
