Disney Announces End Date for Soarin Over California in EPCOT

The original version of the Soarin’ attraction, known as “Soarin’ Over California,” is set to close at Walt Disney World on February 27, according to the Walt Disney World website. The attraction will be replaced by “Soarin’ Around the World,” which is scheduled to reopen on February 28.

“Soarin’ Over California” first debuted at Disney California Adventure on February 8, 2001, and later expanded to EPCOT in 2005. The original version continued until 2016 when it was temporarily replaced by “Soarin’ Around the World,” featuring international destinations. “Soarin’ Over California” has made occasional returns for limited-time runs, and this marks its first return to Walt Disney World.
