Disney+ added 8.7 million subscribers in the fiscal second quarter, bringing its quarter-end total to 103.6 million subscribers, compared with 94.9 million on Jan. 2.

Results at Disney+ were comparable to the prior-year quarter. Especially since the increase in subscribers is largely offset by higher programming and production, marketing and technology costs. The increases in subscribers and costs reflected the ongoing expansion of Disney+ including launches in additional markets.
