Back again for another year is runDisney’s Virtual Running Shorts Series! Registration opened starting today, April 11th, which also happens to be National Pet Day. In celebration of this special day, runDisney has announced that this year’s series will feature Mickey’s favorite pet, Pluto.
If you have ever wanted to participate in a runDisney event and have never been able to make it “home”, these runs are for you! You can participate in them wherever you may be: around your city, on the treadmill, or in your favorite dog park with your best four-legged friend! From beginners to professional marathon runners, these runs are for everyone!
There will be a total of three individual race windows throughout the summer with each race offering a commemorative finisher medal featuring Pluto. If you complete all three races within the completion time frame, you will also receive a Virtual Running Shorts Series Finisher Medal PLUS a Coolcore towel to chill out with. As an added bonus, if you register prior to April 30th, you will receive some treats for your four-legged friend including a commemorative dog tag and a collapsible bowl.

- Virtual Running Shorts 5k-June
- Dates June 1st to June 30th, 2017
- Medal features Pluto’s collar and dog tag on a yellow lanyard
- Virtual Running Shorts 5k-July
- Dates July 1st to July 31st, 2017
- Medal features Pluto’s dog bed and dog bone on a purple lanyard
- Virtual Running Shorts 5k- August
- Dates August 1st to August 31st, 2017
- Medal features Pluto’s dog house on a green lanyard
If you complete every 5k in the allotted time frames, you will receive the Virtual Running Shorts Finisher Medal that combines all of the fun Pluto-themed elements from the individual medals.
This runDisney series benefits the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando who is celebrating their 80th anniversary of rescuing pets in Central Florida!
Each individual race is $40 or you can do the whole series and receive the fourth medal for $142.
