Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse

This Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse will transport you to the world of Avatar right away!

The blend of textures and flavors makes this treat very unique, we are sure your family and friends will be very impress when you surprise them with this tasty blueberry cream cheese mousse.

To recreate this iconic treat from Animal Kingdom at home, just follow this recipe and have a great time baking!



Blueberry Mousse

  • 1 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 8 oz of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 6 (31/2″) of soft sugar cookies

Passion Fruit Curd

  • 7 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup of passion fruit juice
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1 cup of cold salted butter, cut into cubes


  • 2 tbsp plus 1/2 cup of room temperature water, divided
  • 1 tbsp of unflavored gelatin
  • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup of white chocolate chips
  • 2 drops of bright blue gel food coloring


  • Canned whipped cream

Blueberry Mousse

  • Grease a jumbo muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray. Line with disks of plastic wrap and set aside.
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, add blueberries, sugar, and salt. Cook for 10 minutes.
  • In a food processor, add blueberry mixture and allow to cool 15 minutes. Add sour cream and cream cheese. Pulse until well mixed. Set aside.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, add heavy cream. Using the whisk attachment, beat on high until stiff peaks form. Fold blueberry mixture into whipped cream.
  • Fill each jumbo muffin cup with Blueberry Mousse. Tap pan onto countertop to shake mousse down into the cups. Top each filled with 1 sugar cookie. Freeze until solid, at least 6 hours or overnight.

Passion Fruit Curd

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add egg yolks, passion fruit juice, sugar and salt. When bubbles begin to form, reduce heat to a simmer. Whisk continuously until mixture thickens, about 8 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in butter, 1 cube at a time, until butter is melted and fully incorporated. Pour curd through a sieve into a medium bowl. Refrigerate covered until completely firm, at least 6 hours or overnight.


  • In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp of water with gelatin. Set aside.
  • In a medium microwave safe bowl, add sugar, remaining 1/2 cup of water, and sweetened condensed milk. Microwave on high 1 minute and stir. Add gelatin mix and whisk well to combine.
  • In a separate medium microwave safe bowl, add chocolate chips. Microwave on high 30 seconds, stir, then microwave 15 seconds. Repeat microwaving in 15 seconds increments, stirring between each, until chocolate melts. Pour chocolate into gelatin mixture and whisk until well combined. Add food coloring. Allow to cool to 90F.


  • Place a wire cooling rack on a baking sheet. Remove blueberry mousse from muffin and place inverted (cookie side down) on wire rack.
  • Pour glaze over each mousse. Once the glaze stops dripping, transfer mousse to serving plates.
  • Scoop 1/4 cup of passion fruit curd on top of each serving. Top each blueberry cream cheese mousse with a swirl of whipped cream.
