‘Deadpool 3’ Confirmed to Join the MCU and Keep R-Rating

‘Deadpool 3’ Confirmed to Join the MCU and Keep R-Rating. Marvel Studios President and CCO Kevin Feige shared an official update on the future of Deadpool stating that we will in fact get to see Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool join the MCU! Feige shared the good news with Collider and also confirmed the film will be Rated R as is tradition with the Deadpool films.

“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now,” Feige continued, “It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”

Disney and Marvel Studios have decided to move forward with the preplanned Deadpool 3but this time with a new writing team, The Molyneaux Sisters. Original franchise writing duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are busy working on other projects so, in order to get Deadpool to the people, they have stepped aside and made way for newcomers and sister team, Wendy Molyneaux and Lizzie Molyneaux-Loeglin (Bob’s Burgers) to fill in and pen the script. It’s said franchise star Ryan Reynolds and Disney/Marvel Studios made the decision together to hire the Molyneaux Sisters for the project so we feel it’s in good hands!

Another relief for fans is that Disney and Marvel Studios have agreed to allow DP3 to remain R-Rated like the first two films to uphold the integrity of the character. It is also highly believed Ryan Reynolds may become Marvel’s highest paid actor to date and is rumored to receive one of the largest contracts the Studio has ever offered. (I think I smell MANY crossovers in the works!)

Currently a premiere date for Deadpool 3 has yet to be determined, but be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Marvel!
