Daisy Ridley as Rey in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Daisy Ridley “In Talks” with Lucasfilm to Return as Rey for Future Star Wars Projects. According to sources close to Giant Freakin Robot, Daisy Ridley is rumored to be in talks with Lucasfilm to discuss her return to the Star Wars Universe.

Daisy Ridley portrayed Rey Palpatine, turned Rey Skywalker, throughout the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Beginning with her time as a scavenger on the desert planet Jakku through her training and journey as a Jedi, Rey’s story is expansive and far from over. She has plenty of life to live, people to meet, and stories to tell. So will we get to see this translated in film or television?

GFR shared: “Thanks to some inside info from our most trusted and proven source, we have learned that Daisy Ridley is currently in talks with the powers-that-be at Disney and Lucasfilm to return as Rey in some upcoming Star Wars project. We were not able to discern just what that project would be – is it something brand new or a project we already know about? – but that she is definitely speaking to the bigwigs about coming back as Rey in the future.

Though Lucasfilm has not confirmed these discussions, as a part of The Walt Disney Company, it comes as no surprise that the studio would be keeping secrets regarding future projects or potential castings. If Daisy does make a return to Lucasfilm for more Star Wars content there is a chance we may see her in future films or potentially in a standalone series on Disney+ similar to The Mandalorian, Andor, and the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. It is currently unknown if she would be featured in a story surrounding her back story, events between the third trilogy films, or even stories following her journey after Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker.
