Several Cozy Cones Closing for a Quick Tune-Up

If you are planning a cruise down Route 66 in Cars Land, you might need to adjust your snack strategy! A few fan-favorite walk-up windows at the Cozy Cone Motel in Disney California Adventure have temporarily closed their shutters for a quick tune-up.

The Cozy Cone Motel operates as five separate, numbered traffic cones, each serving up its own signature “i-cone-ic” treats. Disney is tackling the refurbishments in quick phases to keep the snack downtime to a minimum.

Cones 2 and 5 wrapped up a very brief two-day closure earlier this week. Right on their heels, the remaining three locations shut down temporarily:

• Cone 1 (Churros): Closed
• Cone 3 (Chili Cone Queso): Closed
• Cone 4 (Cone-coctions): Closed

According to Cast Members in Cars Land, the closures are due to internal maintenance, specifically to redo the interior flooring inside the kiosks.

Don’t worry—you won’t have to leave Radiator Springs completely empty-handed! Cone 2 (Ice Cream Cones) and Cone 5 (Popcone) remain wide open. Even better, Disney has shifted select popular treats from the closed windows over to the open ones, so you can still grab a bite while the maintenance crew works their magic.

The closures are incredibly brief, with the final three windows scheduled to wrap up their maintenance by July 10. You can expect the full motel loop to be back to normal operations in no time!
