AK Quick Service

I recently wrote about where you can grab some counter service grub at the Magic Kingdom, and today I wanted to head over to Animal Kingdom for a bite and take a look at what they have to offer for quick service locations:

Tamu Tamu Refreshments: This Africa spot is small, but it serves breakfast – Ham egg and cheese flatbread, fruit, yogurt parfait, and coffee (the most important part of any breakfast) are all on the menu, while lunch and dinner options here are a chicken or vegetable curry dish served with rice, or a roasted chicken salad. There’s a nice little outdoor seating area tucked away behind the counter that not many people know about, so definitely check that out and you might just get to enjoy a tranquil, quiet meal while the Park bustles around you

Yak and Yeti Local Food Cafes: Since this dining location is in Asia, it makes sense that they would serve up some yummy Asian dishes for lunch and dinner – the honey chicken is a favorite here, as are the egg rolls, and they also offer an Asian chicken sandwich and Mandarin Chicken salad. Enjoy your food at the adjacent courtyard with a bunch of outdoor seating and some shaded tables, and it has a nice fountain too!

Restaurantosaurus: A place like this can only be located at AK’s Dinoland USA! This spot offers menu items like burgers, chicken, and hot dogs – which might make it extremely popular with your picky eater! Oh and they serve alcohol – which might make it extremely popular with the adults too. There’s a lot of seating inside the restaurant, and the theming here is great too – the building was taken over by the grad students and paleontologists that are studying the dinosaurs – and there are tons of props and details to see and enjoy while eating

Flame Tree BBQ: Discovery Island is home to this delicious lunch and dinner spot, which taunts you with its mouth-watering smells and practically begs you to come and enjoy some awesome BBQ. St. Louis style ribs and rotisserie chicken are the winners here – and you can even try them both with a combo platter! Pork and turkey sandwiches are also available, as well as a smoked chicken salad and some kid friendly options too (PB & J, hot dog, etc). There’s mostly outdoor seating here, some is covered by a canopy but most of it is out in the open – so hopefully the weather cooperates and you can enjoy your chicken rain-free

Pizzafari: Head over to Discovery Island for a hot breakfast menu – including a bounty platter, breakfast Panini, and spinach and cheese frittata. Lunch offers mainly – you guessed it – PIZZA – cheese, veggie, and pepperoni versions are available here in both kids and adult sizes, as well as breadsticks, and a few salads/sandwich options too. There are plenty of indoor seats here – grouped into several beautifully decorated rooms, so take some time and explore the different animals and colors – its quite the sight!

I hope this can help you figure out where to eat when next time you’re at Animal Kingdom and hunger hits! Stay tuned right here on Chip and co – as I will be talking about even more places to grab a quick bite in the World!
