Could Figment Be the Star of a Future Disney-Pixar Project?

As Disney shifts their focus to streaming when it comes to film and television entertainment, we are starting to see a ton of Intellectual Property (or “IP”) used to create new spins, reboots, and revivals, so what about the IP that fans love, but has yet to get more screentime?

We very recently saw the demand for more Figment from the Journey into Imagination attraction at EPCOT in Walt Disney World with the wild and wacky release of the Figment Popcorn Bucket, so why hasn’t Disney given the fans more of what they wanted? MORE Figment! (and as much as we love the classic Epcot Educational Media short videos, those don’t really cut it for modern audiences, Sorry Figment!)

The folks over at ScreenRant had a wonderful pitch, and I hope the teams at Disney Animation or Pixar catch wind! What about a Figment movie or project? One where we can really dive into an abstract world of thought and use incredible animation techniques to help showcase the wonder of our imagination along with the Dreamfinder and Figment!

Could Figment Be the Star of a Future Disney-Pixar Project?

This would be an excellent avenue to explore via film or television, and watching animation that pushes the boundaries of a concept like imagination would be entertaining in and of itself! It’s just a bonus at that point that we would have Figment and Dreamfinder to help us along the way as the rightful attendants for such a journey.

What do you think of this idea? Would you like to see a Figment-led animation project come to theaters, television, or Disney+? What sort of animation styles would you like to see featured in a story about the imagination? Would you want Disney Animation or Pixar to heavily reference the original attraction, maybe even create a whole new story? We would L-O-V-E to hear your thoughts in the comments.
