Closing Date Announced for Disneyland Resort’s Manchester Cast Parking Lot

According to a Facebook post by Workers United Local 50—the union representing a large portion of Disneyland’s Cast Members—the Manchester lot is scheduled to close on June 28. While Disneyland Resort has not yet publicly announced the official closure date, Local 50 noted that employees can explore alternative commuting resources and assistance programs by visiting disneycommuterassistance.com.

Following the June 28 shutdown, displaced Cast Members will be redirected to alternative parking locations. The union confirmed that the following lots will be available to accommodate staff:

  • Katella Cast Member Lot (KCML): Newly opened up to accommodate displaced parkers
  • Harbor Cast Member Lot (HCML)
  • Ball Cast Member Lot (BMCL)

This major closure follows two construction permits filed in late December 2025 for a massive, 3.2 million-square-foot east parking structure. The expansive project is a key piece of the DisneylandForward expansion initiative, which Disney officially greenlit in 2025 after teasing the concepts to the public back in 2023. The blueprint closely echoes Disney’s original 2016 “Eastern Gateway” plan, a project that was ultimately shelved in favor of building the Pixar Pals parking structure in 2019.

Both new permits target 1585 S. Manchester Ave, the exact footprint of the current Manchester Cast Member lot located just across Harbor Boulevard. Once completed, this area will serve as a brand-new, high-capacity entrance to the Disneyland Resort. The updated layout will feature a pedestrian bridge arching over Harbor Boulevard, creating a seamless and elevated arrival experience that ushers guests directly into a newly designed main esplanade.

Once complete, the massive facility will accommodate 6,000 vehicles and feature dedicated drop-off areas for ride-sharing and shuttles. To keep arrivals smooth and efficient, it will also house its own security screening area and a dedicated entrance directly off Disney Way to help alleviate local traffic.
