Disneyland Hotel Welcomes Back Haunted Mansion Halloween Overlay
Happy haunts are officially materializing throughout the Disneyland Resort for the Halloween season. At the Disneyland Hotel, the popular Haunted Mansion lobby overlay has returned to greet guests with grim grinning joy.

The haunted transformation begins before you even step foot inside the hotel lobby. Along the outdoor walkway, a elaborate gateway display has been installed—complete with mock brick pillars and wrought-iron metal gates mirroring the famous entrance to Disneyland’s iconic attraction.
Surrounding the entrance setup are petrified animal statues, gothic stone pillars, tall fall foliage, and a decorative black sign welcoming foolish mortals with the message: “Happy Halloween From Disneyland Hotel.”

Inside the main entrance, the eerie ambiance continues. The lobby features three grand pillars dressed in clear vases overflowing with autumn floral arrangements. Right behind them, a dramatic Haunted Mansion backdrop covers the wall, reading “Welcome to the Disneyland Hotel.”
- The Stretching Room: The wall feature showcases large artwork of the four classic Stretching Room portraits:
- Sally Slater (the tightrope walker balancing over an alligator)
- Alexander Nitrokoff (The Ambassador sitting on a barrel of dynamite)
- Constance Hatchaway (The Black Widow bride perched on her husband’s tomb)
- The Quicksand Men (the three men sinking in quicksand)
- Gargoyles & Wallpaper: Two glowing gargoyle candelabras flank the portraits against the Mansion’s iconic purple wallpaper pattern and official seals.
- Hitchhiking Ghost Elevators: The three main lobby elevators have received a ghostly upgrade as well. Each elevator door features one of the beloved Hitchhiking Ghosts—Phineas (the Traveler), Ezra (the Skeleton), and Gus (the Prisoner). Best of all, guests taking a ride will spot decal graphics of the trio inside on the elevator mirrors!

The Disneyland Hotel overlay is just one part of a resort-wide hotel transformation for Halloween 2026. Pixar Place Hotel recently unveiled a brand-new Monsters, Inc. lobby takeover, while Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa features an intricate Nightmare Before Christmas central lobby display!
