Disneyland and Disney California Adventure reopened today after being closed for over a year. The city of Anaheim is so glad to have the Happiest Place on Earth open once again!
The city of Anaheim shared a post to Instagram today acknowledging the impact the park closure had on its economy and its joy to have the parks open again.
Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu wrote:
“This is a monumental day for Anaheim. We have all missed the joy of Disneyland, and we’re so glad to have that back. But this means so much more to working families, small businesses, and our city. The impact of having the theme parks closed for more than 13 months due to the pandemic has been devastating. This begins our economic recovery and brings hope back to Anaheim.”
Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, also shared a heartfelt post to Instagram today:
D’Amaro wrote: “I love every single one of these Cast Members and am so happy to see them again this morning as we reopen the parks.”
Thousands of cast members have returned to work and many businesses in the Disneyland area will benefit from the parks reopening. Anaheim’s economy will start to bounce back. We can’t wait to see more people return to work and businesses in the area thrive!
