Chris Sanders in Talks to Return for ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Live-Action Remake

Lilo & Stitch animated alumn Chris Sanders to return for the live-action version of the film

We have yet another Lilo And Stitch live-action remake announcement, and this one is a big one! According to the Hollywood Reporter, Chris Sanders is returning to voice Stitch! Sanders would join a cast that includes Maia Kealoha (Lilo), Sydney Agudong (Nani), and Courtney B. Vance (Bubbles).

Sanders, who also provided the voice for Stitch in the original movie, will reprise his role as the title character in the live-action version. Tia Carrere will be reportedly joining Sanders in the live-action adaptation. Carrere originally voiced Nani in the animated film and is joining the live-action cast to play the newly created Mrs. Kekoa.

The live-action film is being directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, a 2023 Oscar Nominee. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich are on board as producers for the film, with Ryan Halprin serving as executive producer. The script was written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright, who worked off of an initial draft developed by Mike Van Waes.

The new Lilo and Stitch live-action movie is set to begin production in early 2022, with a release date expected in late 2023.
