Celebrating New Year’s Eve at Disneyland

New Year’s Eve is just a few weeks away and most of us already have big plans.  Mine include celebrating at the Happiest Place on Earth.  Along with the thousands of other fellow DAs, I will be arriving early to make sure I can get into the parks before it reaches capacity.  This year I plan to enjoy all the fun festivities at Disney California Adventure where along with the traditional countdown and fireworks, Disney has added non stop entertainment.   Below are just a few of the things on my list  to do after picking up my party hat and horns.

•  Even though the new “Frozen Fun” doesn’t officially begin until January 7, I can’t wait to check out the sneak preview of  “Olaf’s Snow Fest,” “For the First Time in Forever – A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration,” and “Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome”.
• After a long day of rides and attractions, I will be heading over to find the four spots in the park for a bit of musical entertainment.     Los Hermanos Herrera at Paradise Garden will have the Latin in me, dancing and singing, the Kelly Rae Band in Cars Land will get my country spirit going.  Tim Gill All-Stars at Carthay Circle on Buena Vista Street is covering the Big Band music and the Ellis Island Boys at Sonoma Terrace are all about Jazz.
• Countdown and Fireworks show over Paradise Pier will be a first for me as I always countdown in front of the castle at Disneyland.
• “World of Color – Winter Dreams” will be offering not 1 but 3 shows on the 31st.  The all new holiday version is too spectacular to miss.  Full of Frozen music and holiday cheer, the special show starting minutes after midnight, is the perfect way to start the New Year.

And best of all, Disneyland Resort will stay open until 1 a.m. so I can keep my tradition of starting the New Year by riding a Disney Ride (Matterhorn Bobsleds, here I come!).
