This February, Walt Disney World Resort invites everyone to “Celebrate Soulfully,” honoring Black heritage and culture during Black History Month. This vibrant celebration includes art, music, soul food, and a special limited-edition pin, showcasing the richness of Black heritage. Here are 8 ways you and your family can celebrate Black History Month this February at Walt Disney World resort.

1. Parade with Broadway Star Michael James Scott: On February 6th, Michael James Scott, known for his role as Genie in “Aladdin,” will be the honorary grand marshal in the “Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade” at Magic Kingdom Park. Catch him at 3 p.m. ET down Main Street, U.S.A., as we kick off a month-long celebration.
2. New Princess Tiana Tiara Pin: Disney introduces a new Princess Tiana tiara pin, designed by Brittany L. Smith from Walt Disney Imagineering. Inspired by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, this pin celebrates dreams coming true.
3. Art and Performances at EPCOT: The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts features the work of Black artists Ryan Riller, Yesenia Moises, and Larissa Marantz. Don’t miss the DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series, showcasing talents like L. Steven Taylor and Kissy Simmons from “The Lion King,” and Michael James Scott from “Aladdin.”
4. Disney Springs Art Walk: Explore Disney Springs for an array of artworks by Black artists, including Ernest Shaw, Nneka Jones, and Nardstar.
5. African Art Exhibit in Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Starting February 1st, enjoy an African art installation by Nigerian-American artist Victor Ekpuk at the Pizzafari gate.
6. Learn from Disney’s First Black Animator: At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Animation Experience at Conservation Station celebrates Floyd Norman, Disney’s first Black animator, with guided sessions to draw characters he helped animate.
7. ‘Cooking with Soul’ Cuisine: Enjoy soul food across Walt Disney World resorts, like Mini Red Velvet Cake, Tiana’s Petit Cake, Shrimp and Grits, and Griot and Pikliz. Visit various locations for these delicious dishes.
8. Meet Characters Ariel, Tiana, and Asha: Interact with diverse characters including Tiana at Magic Kingdom Park, Ariel at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Asha at EPCOT.
