The Cast Member Pantry, a charity organization that offers groceries to furloughed Disney cast members, is now offering its support to cast members that were recently laid off.
The Cast Member Pantry was started back in March by Emily Lartigue, a furloughed Walt Disney World cast member. Cast Member Pantry makes it quick and easy to receive free food essentials once a month per Cast Member. Cast Members receive a reusable grocery bag filled with foods that are easily put together to make meals for 4, with breakfast and snack options as well.
Now that Disney has laid off 28,000 employees, Cast Member Pantry is including those cast members in their services. The organization posted the following on Facebook:
“Lots of questions coming our way! As many of you know we are working to serve cast members affected by furloughs and reduced hours from COVID-19 with bags of groceries.
We will now be including those that are impacted by layoffs as well, and will have an adjustment to our current process to ensure that cm’s impacted by layoffs will have access to our services.
Thank you to all who continue to support our mission. Without the community of love we have seen none of this would be possible.
Hang in there friends. ♥️”
