A few months ago, we shared a viral video made by Katelyn, a Cast Member who missed working at Kilimanjaro Safaris. Instead of a wildlife trek, she brought the safari adventure to her family’s living room.
Inspired to recreate the attraction at home, she led a one-of-a-kind video safari through the Harambe Wildlife Reserve, complete with some of her favorite “animals” and her very own safari vehicle. She even shared some great facts about wildlife along the way.
Katelyn impressed many with her extraordinary at-home recreation of Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. Of course, the temporary closure of Disney Parks caught most of us off guard. Many Disney fans felt “homesick” about being unable to visit their favorite theme park attractions.

During the recent reopening of the park, she enjoyed her own magical moment. Katelyn had a surprise meeting with Disney Chief Executive Officer Bob Chapek. Being able to return to Kilimanjaro Safaris is a dream come true for her!
Kilimanjaro Safaris is definitely a favorite attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. With its amazing animals and interesting animal facts, it is no surprise that our cast members love sharing this unique experience with guests.
