A shiny new Casey Jr. Splash N’ Soak Station will soon be comin’ down the track! Refurbishment for the water play area in Fantasyland began this week. Temporary walls encircle the entire play area, but the walkways around it remain open for guests.
Currently, the refurbishment is scheduled to take place through March 24th. This project has been a long time coming, as areas of wear and tear were showing through for some time. Many of the water features were not operational, and the whole circus needed a new coat of paint.
Given the closure is lasting longer than a month, we expect Casey Jr. and his train cars to be restored to their former glory. Just in time to cool off guests during those HOT Spring and Summer months in Florida.
The other train at Storybook Circus is also out of commission for some time. The Walt Disney World Railway remains closed until further notice as work begins on the TRON Lightcycle Power Run Rollercoaster. The TRON coaster is expected to open in 2021, though we expect the Railroad will be up and running before then. In the meantime, the #2 Lilly Belle train is parked at the Main Street Station for guests to view up close.
