The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger recently received a special service award honoring his remarkable 50-year career with ABC and Disney. To mark this milestone, Iger launched a new Instagram account, where he shared a picture of the award – a bronze sculpture depicting Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Iger’s journey with Disney began in 1974 when he started working for ABC, which was later acquired by The Walt Disney Company in 1995. Over the years, he climbed the corporate ladder at both ABC and Disney, eventually becoming CEO in 2005. Although he stepped down as CEO in 2020, he continued to serve as an executive chairman until the end of 2021. His retirement was short-lived; he returned as CEO less than a year later following the dismissal of Bob Chapek by the Disney Board of Directors. Iger’s current contract extends until 2026, with speculation that his successor might be announced this year.

In his Instagram post, Iger reflected on his career and the evolution of the entertainment industry. He wrote:
“I started my career at ABC 50 years ago today and the business has certainly changed a lot since then! But at the end of the day, success still hinges on one thing: great storytelling. I’m proud to work alongside so many talented colleagues who create exceptional stories and experiences for the world to enjoy… truly the ride of a lifetime!” – Bob Iger
