Bill Burr Disappointed that Gina Carano won’t return to the Mandalorian

The comedian Bill Burr is once again coming to the defense of former Cara Dune actress, Gina Carano.

Gina Carano starred in two seasons of the Disney+ Star Wars TV show The Mandalorian. However, Disney and Lucasfilm distanced themselves from her due to comments she made on her social media.

In February 2021, #FireGinaCarano began trending on Twitter after the actress made a post comparing the struggles of being a Jew in Europe just prior to the Holocaust to being a Republican in modern-day America.

Bill Burr Disappointed that Gina Carano won’t return to the Mandalorian

In a Hollywood Reporter interview, Bill Burr gave his opinion of the whole ordeal with Gina being let go.

“I thought it was funny that the liberals proved her point. They just use outrage because they don’t like your politics. As someone who considers himself liberal, it’s disappointing to see the left become how the right used to be when they went after the Dixie Chicks after they criticized George W. Bush. There’s not a lot of people like that — most are just trying not to get in trouble — but there’s this small collection of lunatics — either on the right or the left, at any given moment – that cause hysteria. And now there’s so many [media outlets] that want eyeballs, they make money off advertising, that they give attention to these crazy fringe people.”

Furthermore, Burr remembers “how cool she was as a person,” even though he personally didn’t share her beliefs on certain issues. He feels that Carano’s firing was unjust and, in fact, only proved the point that she was trying to make.
