Benedict Cumberbatch Returns to Film “Significant” Reshoots for ‘Doctor Strange 2’. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios has ordered “significant” reshoots for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the required cast and crew have returned to work on the reshoots, including leading actor Benedict Cumberbatch.

Per the report, Benedict and the crew have returned for 6 weeks (or more) of filming, with the team working 6 days a week during the reshoots to get back on schedule. The main claim for the reshoots seems to stem from “actor availability” and we know they do not mean Benedict Cumberbatch in this situation, as he was on set for the entirety of initial filming along with Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch). Reportedly, Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, and Sophia Di Martino were all set to reprise their respective roles as Loki, Mobius, and Sylvie, so who could this mysterious actor be and what is their role in the film?

Though no one shared who the reshoots involve outside of Cumberbatch, one insider source for THR shared, “Even while in the middle of production, Marvel is scheduling you for more shooting,” while another shared that the studio has done bigger shoots on other MCU titles. Another source for THR shared that filming is actually set to take place for a suspicious amount of time, sharing: “They’re here until the end of the year. That’s like a whole other movie.”
