Disney Parks just released a video showing some behind-the-scenes footage of how the video portion of the new Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind ride was created. From special lighting effects and blue screens, so much went into creating the videos that bring guests into the world of Xandar.

From the huge team working in the studio, the cast in the parks, and even down to the actors themselves, the enthusiasm and work that went into this project can be felt in this video clip.

Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind the ride

The new Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind is now open in the newly renamed World Discovery neighborhood. As guests enter the Galaxarium they are greeted by a Xandarian supercomputer, Worldmind. Stunning visuals and the occasional humorous factoid entertain you as you make your way through the line.

In the Xandarian Gallery guests can learn more about the people of Xandar and their culture through various displays and videos. Models of their ships and a stunning replica of their city bring guests into the Xandarians world. While in line keep a eye out for their broadcast station playing “Good Morning Xandar”. You may get to see a rather modest Star Lord being interviewed.

After making your way through the educational display guests will be brought into the “Phase Chamber”. Once inside guests will be teleported from Epcot to a Nova Corps a Starcharter cruiser. Don’t expect things to go too smoothly though. From there the adventure begins and you are in for quite the ride.

A first for Disney

This is Epcot’s first coaster attraction. This is also Disney’s first coaster with a reverse launch and coaster that makes vehicle rotations. The ride has had some guests complaining of severe motion sickness.

Despite many reports of motion sickness, the ride is a huge success and on the first day of its Lightening Lane availability it sold out in under a minute.

Have you had the chance to ride yet? If so what did you think?
