The Dark Knight Returns!
There’s currently a rumor rising among members of the comic book community regarding the return to a popular Batman series. Marc Bernardin and Kevin Smith recently address the rumor in the Fatman Beyond Podcast. Marc went on record saying:
The rumor is that HBO Max is looking at making a Batman: The Animated Series sequel, that they want to continue that forward.
Even though it’s only speculation, there’s enough credibility to this rumor. For starters, HBO Max is making strides with DC animation and the popular Harley Quinn series. Plus, DC Comics has also put a spotlight on the 90’s show with a new comic series set within the DCAU.
It’s predicted that a revival of Batman: The Animated Series could happen as soon as 2022. No official word about this has been announced by WarnerMedia. So check back here for more details as we learn them.
Of course, it’ll be great if Kevin Conroy and other familiar voice talent return! He’s certainly the iconic voice of Batman ever since 1992.
