Disney Announces New Team of Heroes to Avengers 5
Disney CEO Bob Iger talked about the future of the MCU and the Avengers as part of the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference. Iger shared the upcoming plans with Deadline stating, “We’re going to turn back to the Avengers franchise with a whole new set of Avengers…”
Iger stressed balancing fan-favorite characters with new faces as they move forward with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iger’s remarks come amidst heavy criticism that Marvel has lost its mojo as of late. Iger responded to critics saying, “There’s nothing in any way inherently off in terms of the Marvel brand. I think we just have to look at what characters and stories we’re mining. If you look at the trajectory of Marvel in the next five years, there will be a lot of newness.”

While Disney and Marvel have not officially announced the Avengers Lineup for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, head writer Jeff Loveless has hinted towards likely participants. “We got Florence Pugh, and Jonathan Majors, and Letitia Wright. We’ve got such a deep bench of really good actors.,” stated Loveless, “Everyone’s gonna get their chance to shine. I can’t say who. I can’t say when they will shine. But I think we’ve got a deep bench and it’s fun to finally put everybody into the game.“

Several films are planned before the release of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, so much is still up in the air. Fans might have to wait beyond 2025 for the answers to who will fill this roster, as the MCU timeline has been shakier than the multiverse as of late. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is set to release on May 2, 2025.
