Ariana Grande and Josh Gad are embarking on an exciting new adventure as they lead the voice cast for Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s upcoming musical adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s beloved book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go! This highly anticipated animated film, co-directed by Jon M. Chu and Jill Culton, is slated for a theatrical release in IMAX on March 17, 2028.

The film, based on Dr. Seuss’s last published book from 1990, promises to be a vibrant journey centered on a young adventurer navigating life’s many triumphs and challenges. With a script penned by Rob Lieber and original songs by the acclaimed duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (known for their work on La La Land and Dear Evan Hansen), the movie is set to bring a fresh musical dimension to the timeless tale.
Oh, the Places You’ll Go! is a high-priority project for Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, hailing from Dr. Seuss Enterprises and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot, with Abrams and Gregg Taylor serving as producers.

This marks a reunion for Grande and director Jon M. Chu, who recently collaborated on Universal’s Oscar-winning adaptation of Wicked, where Grande stars as Glinda. The second part of Wicked, Wicked: For Good, is set to hit theaters in November. Beyond her work in the Whoville universe, Grande is also slated to appear in the next installment of the Meet the Parents franchise alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.

Meanwhile, Josh Gad’s upcoming projects include producing and starring in Amazon’s Spaceballs 2.
Warner Bros. Pictures Animation is also expanding its Dr. Seuss cinematic universe with The Cat in the Hat, an animated feature set for release on February 27, 2026, with Bill Hader lending his voice to the titular feline.
