Each weekend in January, SeaWorld Orlando is opening its Ambassador Only areas to guests to give them a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to care for their animals.  You can meet the SeaWorld team and hear their personal stories of rescues and day-to-day operations.

SeaWorld is not just an amusement park. Most importantly, they are a rescue and rehabilitation organization and have helped more than 33,000 sick, injured and orphaned animals over the past 50 years. Their teams are on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and partner with multiple agencies to do all that they can to give these animals a second chance at life.

There are six different Behind the Scenes areas that Guests have a chance to visit.

The Fish House, or the Zoological Commissary, is where the meals are prepared for all of the SeaWorld animals.

Every squid, fish, shrimp, and clam that the SeaWorld animals are fed is prepared here.

During SeaWorld Inside Look Weekends, guests will get the chance to meet the people who prepare the food for all of the animals in the park.

At the SeaWorld Rescue Center, guests can meet with and learn from the team of animal care personnel, lab technicians, filtration experts, and veterinarians who work around the clock to deliver care to animals in need.

During SeaWorld Inside Look Weekends, climb up and see what it looks like in the huge tank that rays, fish, sea dragons, live corals and a giant Pacific octopus call home in the Manta Aquarium.

For the first time ever, guests will get to visit the home of the stars of Clyde & Seamore’s Sea Lion High show! There will be stories from the trainers about what goes into putting on this live performance.

In this behind the scenes exhibit, you will get to see where SeaWorld’s Animal Ambassadors live.

Animal Ambassadors make surprise visits out in the park, appear at local community events, and make appearances on network television programs.

This historic facility was once the home to the Busch Clydesdale Horses, and is only open to the public during SeaWorld Inside Look Weekends.

At the Beluga and Seal Primary Housing, guests get a behind the scenes look at the Wild Arctic ride, and see a variety of beluga toys, the back beluga pool, the whale scale and the harbor seal holding pool where the animals can choose to swim if they are not on exhibit.

As guests are making their way around to all of these wonderful exhibits, they are collecting stamps on their map. Once you have collected 4 stamps, be sure to stop back at the Rescue Store to get your free pin.

SeaWorld is also a conservation leader and supports financial and scientific support to animal conservation and research organizations around the world.

One of these organizations is OCEARCH, which collects data on Great White Sharks and Dolphins to help accelerate the ocean’s return to abundance and balance. Chris Fischer, the founder of OCEARCH was at SeaWorld this past weekend giving a talk about his organization and the work that they do.

After his talk, he met with guests to answer their questions and give advice on how we can all help. His biggest advice – stop using straws and plastic lids.
