AMC to Host 27-Hour Star Wars Movie Marathon For ‘The Rise of Skywalker‘ Premiere. Grab your large popcorn, oversized drink, favorite colored lightsaber, and comfy Star Wars jammies! AMC Theaters is offering a special 27-hour marathon showcasing the Skywalker Saga starting with Star Wars: A New Hope and ending with an early premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker this December.
According to AMC Theater‘s website, “On Wednesday, December 18th, ahead of its official opening on December 20th, fans can be among the first to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker by attending Star Wars Marathon. Experience all nine Star Wars saga films in one epic day. Fans will receive a commemorative pin and blanket, and a concession offer. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will start at 5 p.m. local time, one hour earlier than regular public showtimes.”
Though an official showing schedule has not been announced, we know AMC will feature Star Wars: Episodes 1-9 during the event. The full run-time of 27-hours and 21 mins allows for some serious downtime between showings for fans to stretch, get concessions, take restroom breaks, or may leave time for the possibility that both Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Solo: A Star Wars Story will also join the lineup for this epic marathon.
Those who attend the Star Wars Marathon at AMC will also be among the first fans to see Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, with the final film of the Skywalker Saga premiering a full hour before the first public showings in theaters nationwide.
Pre-sale Tickets to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will become available after the release of the final trailer for the film during tonight’s NFL Monday Night Football Game between the New England Patriots and New York Jets (October 21, 2019). The game begins at 5:15 p.m. PDT/8:15 p.m. EDT. Be sure to tune in and when the trailer appears get ready to race to the AMC App to order your Star Wars Marathon tickets!
