Adults Can Now Wear Costumes In The Magic Kingdom For Halloween

It’s officially the start of the Halloween season at Walt Disney World! Unlike in past years, adults can now wear Halloween costumes in The Magic Kingdom. This brings a new element of fun and immersion for guests of all ages.

Anyone above the age of 14 was previously not allowed to wear costumes. However, with the cancellation of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party along with other changes Disney has made for the season, this rule has been changed.

As stated by the Disney Parks Blog “guests of all ages can wear your funniest, Disney-ist, most creative costumes during Magic Kingdom Park regular operating hours from Sept. 15 to Oct. 31” Do keep in mind costume masks are still only for those under 14 years of age with this new rule.

With that said, let us take a look at some of the fun costumes that have been spotted in The Magic Kingdom so far!

Instagrammer @ethanatwdw sported a fun comfy look with this ghost onesie. This would be an excellent way to stay comfortable throughout the day! It would make it easy to walk from ride to ride. Or if you are like me, food item to food item. We don’t judge here.

Instagrammers @jrheaney_, @talk2thepalm, and @afrolectric came together to create an amazing group costume. Lock, Shock, and Barrel have never looked so good! We learned from the group they even added touches to their masks to give them an extra spooky effect similar to the movie itself.

I’m having a hard time turning THIS one into a carriage… 🎃 •🍂• I’m honored to say that @waltdisneyworld has been so gracious enough to not only host me at the Yacht Club, but invited me to the First Day of Fall here at the Magic Kingdom! And I get to bring you all along for the ride! 💙✨ •🍂• Firstly, it’s COSTUME SEASON here at Walt Disney World! From today until Halloween, you can wear a costume to the Magic Kingdom (even as an adult!) I decided to debut an official Fairy Godmother look (that I literally made in my hotel room last night…) and it’s gotten the most magical reception! 🦋✨ •🍂• Disney has also released an amazing selection of Food and Merchandise just in time for Spooky Szn, and I got to take a special behind the scenes look at all the goodies to show all of you! Idk about you, but I WILL be trying that Constance Hatchaway cake later today… 🪓 •🍂• I’ve also had such an amazing time meeting so many wonderful Disney friends that I’ve gotten to know via Instagram over the last few months, and that was really something special 💙✨ •🍂• We’ve been having such a blast here at Magic Kingdom, and if you haven’t yet, check out my Stories as I take you into all the Magic of Fall here at Magic Kingdom! 💙✨ •🍂• Thank you again @waltdisneyworld and @disneyparksblog for inviting me to be a part of the celebration! 💙 •🍂• PC 📸: @bryanna_doty #disney #disneybound #disneycreators #disneyparksblog #disneyworld #wdw #waltdisneyworld #fall #magickingdom #cosplay #costume #fairygodmother #halloween

Instagrammer @jeremythetea donned the park in this fantastic Fairy Godmother look. The way he described his costume was a very whimsical homage to the Fairy Godmother we all wanted at one point or another. Jeremy let us know this costume was created the night before. That is what I call creativity on the fly!

Instagrammer @lilyascanbe let it go in an Elsa look. We love how great this costume looks against the castle. Especially since photos like these used to be hard to get at night.

As you can see, the limits are truly endless. There are countless costume choices to wear at The Magic Kingdom. We know 2020 has looked quite different, yet we are loving this perk that has come from it. We can’t wait to see what other ways adults wear Halloween costumes at The Magic Kingdom this year!
