According to the Examiner, Celebrity Chef Cat Cora, the inspiration for the Disney’s BoardWalk restaurant Kouzzina, is generating buzz on the Internet for her immaculate mugshot after a June 17 DUI arrest.
Cora was cited for driving under the influence in Santa Barbara, California after driving with a blood alcohol limit of 0.20, which is more than twice the legal limit of 0.08, according to TODAY.com. However, instead of being taken to jail, Cora spent the night in Santa Barbara’s Sobering House. After her release, she had until July 26, the date of her arraignment, to report for her mugshot.
Cora’s mugshot was taken eleven days after her arrest. In the photo, a poised, polished Cora sports shiny, pink lip gloss and perfectly coiffed hair. On Wednesday, Cora’s publicist released a statement in which the star chef expressed her deep regret for driving under the influence. “I learned a very important lesson from this experience and take full accountability for my actions,” Cora stated. “This will never happen again.”
In 2009, Kouzzina (which is Greek for “kitchen”) replaced Spoodles, another Mediterranean restaurant at Disney’s BoardWalk. The restaurant features an alcoholic beverage named after Cora (“Cat’s Ouzo-tini“). Guests can also sample several varieties of Cora’s private wine label, Coranation.
