Embrace the magic, the wonder, the romance of Disney World

Who doesn’t like a little romance?  Whatever the stage of your relationship, it is time you learn to embrace the magic, the wonder, the romance of Disney World.  There are so many opportunities for romance in the parks!  From dining to attractions and everything in between, Disney has got it all!  Today, I’ve come up with what I am going to call my dream Disney day.  Maybe one of these days I’ll get to put it to use at what I find to be one of the most magically romantic spots in the world!  Until my prince comes, a girl can dream (and dream BIG).

Start your day EARLY!   Get up, get out of bed!  Don’t sleep away your day.  Being up early will give you some quiet time for a romantic stroll or breakfast with your loved one!  You’ll avoid wasting your precious time together and in the parks!   So now that we took care of that detail, let’s get started!

It all starts with a romantic breakfast…

I’m all about fun at Disney!  I love character breakfasts and buffets with the best of them, but for a romantic breakfast I say, keep it laid back!  I can’t think of a more laid back spot than Disney’s Boardwalk.  With the waters of the Crescent Lake and the feel of a time gone by,  Cat Cora’s Kouzzina boasts not only beauty, but also a culinary delight!  The  restaurant  has an open feel as sunlight cascades the room.  It almost feels like you are in a kitchen somewhere in the Mediterranean.  The open kitchen adds to the overall feeling as dishes like turkey-sweet potato hash, spinach, tomato, and feta scrambled eggs, and French toast get a Mediterranean feel from the artistry of Cat Cora.   And fellow coffee lovers will be delighted by the real coffee, in fact it’s press pot coffee; you can’t find that at Chef Mickey’s!  Because of its location and lack of characters, this breakfast spot makes for the perfect place to get a quiet, romantic, start to your day.  After breakfast, take a romantic stroll around the Boardwalk.  Pick up some sweets with your sweetie and even stop to take the obligatory photo booth photo!  That is the perfect start for a romantic day at the parks.

Picking a park…

I am a fan of Park Hopping.  I love the flexibility it gives you to do and see what you want when you want.  For the purposes of this “snapshot” of a perfect day, I am pretending like it is the only day you’ll get in the park.  As romantic as monorail spiels and bus lines are, I am thinking that for a romantic day, we should spend the day where it all began.  I am going to go ahead and admit that everything in me is saying “go to EPCOT, there aren’t as many kids and World Showcase is so romantic, and the food it out of this world, and…” but, I am honoring the sense of romance that went into planning for the Magic Kingdom by Walt himself! Full of childhood wonder, fun rides, great eating spots, and yes, princesses galore, this park seems to be the perfect spot to spend a day allowing my heart to soak up magic and make a wish come true.  Yes, even as an adult.  So, there are obvious things to do, including but not limited to rides and attractions.  Here are my top picks for wooing your sweetheart around the World at the Magic Kingdom!

Ride the trolley:  This charming tour of Mainstreet USA puts you in the magic!  I love the idea of riding just to ride and not to get to another destination!

Snuggle up on the Haunted Mansion: A good scare will get you close!  Why not cozy up in a doombuggy!

Take a goofy photo:  Let loose and take a fun photograph.  Why not?  There are Disney Photographers all around and photos can be previewed and purchased through the Disney Photo Pass program!

Share a dessert:  Get inspired by Lady and the Tramp and share a dessert…or at least share a table.  My favorite spot to sit and share is near Casey’s Corner.  Piano Music compliments of the Casey’s Corner pianist and a view compliments of Cinderella Castle!  Who could ask for a sweeter spot?

Scream and laugh as you take on one of the mountains: Pick your peak! I like Splash Mountain and Space Mountain best.  Either way, you’ll have a fun time laughing, hooting, and screaming as you get your thrills on any one of these park favorites!

Hold hands: Holding hands at all times is a good idea!  But, especially at Disney World.  There are multiple perks to this!  First, you’ll stay together in the crowd and second, there is just something about holding hands with the one you love!

Eat at a fancy dinner: I like Cinderella’s Royal table and Tony’s Town Square.  While Tony’s is more “sophisticated” there is just something so magical about hanging out in the castle.  Put aside your grown up mentality for a moment and enjoy talking with princesses and waving around wands and swords!  It is a lot of fun (plus a photo is included!).

Watch the fireworks…

I really don’t feel like I have to go into much detail here.  Other than to say, that if you have the option to watch Wishes!  (fingers crossed that weather permits) then you really should.  There are  a lot of great viewing spots, my favorite is on the bridge to Tomorrowland.  I love the romance that fireworks create and if you’ve never seen Disney fireworks…do yourself a favor and watch them!  With choreography and ooohs and ahhhs, you’ll seal in memories of the day with Wishes!  When the show is over and the crowds began to pour out of the parks, hang out and watch the kiss goodnight at Cinderella Castle.  It just completes it all…or you could cue the proposal at the end of the show. That would be a real kiss goodnight!

So, what is on your itinerary for a romantic bella notte or day (not sure how you say that one?) at Disney World?  List your  ideas below and spread the love!
