“How much do I tip” is one of the most common questions when it comes to cruising. Disney Cruise Line makes it easy and gives you guidelines for who and how to tip.
There is a nice easy little form that you fill out and turn in, or you can pre-pay your gratuities-in which case you’ll receive vouchers the last night of your cruise to put in the envelopes and distribute accordingly.
Already in effect on the Disney Magic, the remaining Disney ships will be instituting the auto-application gratuity as follows:
- Disney Dream-To be determined
- Disney Wonder-April 22, 2012
- Disney Fantasy-April 21, 2012
The automatic gratuities will be applied to your stateroom account on embarkation day. The gratuity policy will apply to the Head Server, Server, Assistant Server and Stateroom Host/Hostess. You can also pre-pay your gratuities at the time of booking or before final payment. If you choose not to pre-pay your gratuities you’ll receive a letter at check-in explaining the new auto-application gratuity policy. Guests will have the option to modify or add additional gratuity amounts or pay in cash, just stop by the guest services desk to make arrangements.
This gratuity process was tested on the Disney Magic and received very positive guest feedback, many saw it as one less thing to worry about. What do you think about this policy?
