Updated Aerial Look at Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Construction at Universal Studios Florida

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is racing toward the finish line at Universal Studios Florida, and new aerial photos from Bioreconstruct show just how much progress has been made across the massive coaster site. Track now stretches across much of the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit footprint, while crews continue filling in the areas beneath it with pathways, infrastructure, and themed elements.

One of the biggest changes can be seen near CityWalk, where the new walkway beneath the coaster’s dramatic spike appears complete. Guests will eventually be able to walk directly under one of the attraction’s signature elements, giving that section of the coaster a huge visual presence before riders even enter the park. Elsewhere around the site, additional themed pieces are being installed as construction continues to move at a rapid pace.

The layout also appears designed to preserve some of the kinetic energy Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit once brought to the front of Universal Studios Florida. Portions of Hollywood Drift will sweep through and around the Music Plaza area, creating another opportunity for guests below to watch the coaster fly past overhead.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is set to open next year, and while the ride vehicles will be the same style used on the Hollywood version of the attraction, Orlando will feature its own track layout. We cannot wait to finally get behind the wheel when opening day arrives. If Hollywood Drift is already on your Universal Orlando must-do list for next year, our partners at Get Away Today can help you plan a trip around its debut.
