“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has officially climbed into rare box office territory. According to Variety, the latest Tom Holland-led Spider-Man movie has now earned $2.4 billion worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing film in history.

That puts “Brand New Day” behind only “Avatar,” which sits at roughly $2.9 billion, and “Avengers: Endgame,” at about $2.7 billion. The film has now moved ahead of “Avatar: The Way of Water,” which finished its global run at approximately $2.3 billion.
The movie is also continuing to dominate in North America, holding the No. 1 spot for a sixth consecutive weekend. It has earned about $923 million domestically and is closing in on “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” which holds the domestic record at $936 million.
