Scaffolding Removed from Monstropolis Glob Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Construction continues to transform the former MuppetVision 3D theater into the new Glob Theater in Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and one of the biggest visual changes yet is now on display. Scaffolding has been removed from the clocktower and much of the main entrance facade, giving guests a much clearer look at the work taking shape.

The refreshed clocktower now features updated brickwork and several changes from its former Muppet-themed appearance. Gonzo, the faux shutters, wooden post, and beige trim have all been removed, while portions of the cornice have also been altered. There are still visible gaps in the brickwork where additional themed elements are expected to be installed as construction moves forward.
Work is also progressing around the theater entrance, where large metal supports now extend from the facade for a future marquee. Concept art shows the finished clocktower with a large eye surrounding the clock, a hanging banner, and additional themed details. Additional work continues around the surrounding Monstropolis area, including the former Gonzo’s Royal Flush restroom building and nearby facades. Disney has announced that Monstropolis will begin opening in phases in 2027, with the new land eventually featuring the Monsters, Inc. door coaster, Harryhausen’s, Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, and more.
