Nearly 80 Cast Members Work Overnight to Bring Halloween Magic to Walt Disney World
The pumpkins may seem to appear with a little Disney magic, but there is a whole lot of work happening after the parks close to bring Halloween to life at Walt Disney World. Disney has shared a new behind-the-scenes look at the Holiday Services team, including nearly 80 Cast Members who have spent recent weeks working overnight to install fall decorations across the resort.

Disney’s Holiday Services team works year-round preparing the decorations that transform the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs for each season. For Halloween, that means everything from the familiar Mickey pumpkin wreaths and autumn bunting along Main Street, U.S.A. to dozens of pumpkins perched high above guests throughout Magic Kingdom. The decorations are designed to be lightweight and durable, allowing crews to safely install a massive amount of décor during the short overnight window before guests return the following morning. New for 2026, Disney has also expanded the Dumbo and Timothy Mouse pumpkin wreath displays around Storybook Circus.
Some of the most detailed Halloween storytelling can be found over at Disney Springs. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is sporting its Halloween overlay for a second year, including the giant themed “Halloween” sign created with help from Holiday Services decorator Jorge and Walt Disney Imagineering. Each letter was designed almost as its own character, with tiny details including ghosts, spiderwebs, directional arrows, and other nods to adventurer Jock Lindsey. Even the sign itself fits the aviation theme, appearing as though it is being pulled through the air by a small airplane. The decorations join this year’s seasonal menu at the Hangar Bar, which includes dishes such as Candelabra Eggs, Dark Forest Dip, and Bone Kebabs.

And while most of us are just getting into pumpkin-spice mode, Disney’s Holiday Services team is already looking ahead to Christmas. Wreaths, garland, ornaments, and towering trees are being prepared for the next overnight transformation across Walt Disney World. It is a reminder that while the finished product may look effortless, there is a huge team working behind the scenes to make sure each season seems to materialize overnight.
