Review & Planning Tips for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is back at Magic Kingdom for 2026, and after spending opening night trick-or-treating, dancing, watching fireworks, and soaking up all those wonderfully spooky Disney vibes, we can safely say the party still has plenty of tricks up its sleeve.

One of our favorite additions this year was the Haunted Mansion-inspired atmosphere along the entrance trick-or-treat trail, located just to the right after entering Magic Kingdom. The spooky characters, including Blair the Caretaker, Cadaver Dans, and other eerie touches made this traditional first stop feel like much more than simply grabbing a handful of candy. It immediately set the Halloween mood and was a welcome spooky addition to the party, especially for returning guests looking for something new in 2026.
Tomorrowland also received some fresh energy with A Masquerade with Stitch, where Stitch, Lilo and Angel keep changing costumes and themes throughout the evening. Seeing Stitch running around in different outfits was just plain fun, especially for repeat visitors looking for something they have not seen at previous parties.
Over at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café, the Destination DescenDANCE Party was another highlight. The Cast Members absolutely brought the energy, dancing alongside guests and turning Cosmic Ray’s into one of the liveliest spots in the park. Add in new pirate antics with Captain Jack Sparrow in Adventureland, and Disney has added just enough new material to give returning guests something different without losing the nostalgia that keeps people coming back year after year.
And that nostalgia is still very much the heart of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The Headless Horseman galloping through Magic Kingdom before Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade remains one of those quintessential Disney Halloween moments, and the parade itself is still one of our favorite pieces of entertainment at Walt Disney World.
Between the Haunted Mansion grave diggers, Hitchhiking Ghosts, Disney characters in Halloween costumes and villains filling the finale, it is absolutely worth building your evening around. Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular is another must-see, with Jack Skellington hosting Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy through their haunted adventure before fireworks, projections and lasers take over Cinderella Castle.
Then there is the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, where the Sanderson Sisters join Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, Maleficent and other Disney villains for a show that still casts quite a spell after all these years. The Cadaver Dans are also worth seeking out in Frontierland for some appropriately groan-worthy jokes mixed with Halloween harmonies.
With party tickets ranging from $119 to $229 plus tax, making a plan before arriving can help you get much more out of your evening. The party officially runs from 7 p.m. until midnight, but ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4 p.m. We recommend taking advantage of that early entry. Use those three hours to eat dinner, knock out a few regular attractions, pick up your party wristband and get yourself into position before the exclusive entertainment begins. If meeting Jack & Sally are high on your to-do list, you can queue up for them at 4 PM and get this meet and greet (which always commands LONG lines) done before the party officially begins!
If character meets are a priority, decide which ones matter most before arriving because popular characters can eat up a significant portion of the five-hour party. The same goes for specialty food. There are plenty of Halloween treats including the Minnie Witch Hat at Cosmic Ray’s, Bowl of Bones at The Friar’s Nook and Buzzard Wings at Pecos Bill, but stopping for every seasonal snack can quickly turn your Halloween party into a five-hour dinner reservation. Choose a few must-try items and save the rest for another night if they are available outside the event.
Dining reservations at Be Our Guest Restaurant, Cinderella’s Royal Table and The Plaza Restaurant are available, but we generally would not devote a large chunk of limited party time to a lengthy sit-down meal unless dining is one of your main goals for the evening. The same planning applies to attractions. Space Mountain runs in pitch-black darkness with spooky music during the party, Mad Tea Party receives special lighting, and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor becomes a trick-or-treat stop.
\Other favorites including Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and TRON Lightcycle / Run are also available, often with lighter waits than during a normal park day. Still, we would prioritize party-exclusive entertainment over attractions you can experience any other day.
Trick-or-treating is everywhere, so there is also no need to rush from candy stop to candy stop early in the evening. Grab treats whenever a trail happens to be nearby and save some serious candy collecting for later in the night when crowds begin to thin. We highly recommend chekcing out the trail at the Diamond Horseshoe (where you will encounter a few Hitchhiking Ghosts!) and in Princess Fairlytail Hall (where a few fan-favorite villains have taken up residence!).
We were especially happy to see how allergy-friendly trick-or-treating works this year. Guests can pick up a teal treat bag, and allergy-friendly treats are available directly along the treat trails instead of requiring guests to collect tokens and then visit another location to redeem them. It makes the experience feel much more inclusive and considerably easier.
Another tip is to resist trying to do everything. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has become packed with entertainment, characters, dance parties, specialty food, merchandise, attractions and trick-or-treat locations, and trying to check every box can turn a fun evening into a race around Magic Kingdom. Pick three or four absolute priorities, leave room to wander, and let the rest of the night happen around you. Some of our favorite moments came from simply running into characters, dancing with Cast Members or stopping to enjoy the spooky atmosphere.

The 2026 party strikes a nice balance between fresh additions and familiar favorites. There are enough new experiences to make longtime fans curious again, but Disney has wisely kept the Boo-To-You Parade, Sanderson Sisters, Jack Skellington, trick-or-treating and other traditions that have become synonymous with Halloween at Magic Kingdom. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights from August 7 through October 31, 2026, with tickets priced between $119 and $229 plus tax. Annual Passholders and eligible Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per ticket on select nights through October 2.
