If you’ve been following along with Storyliving by Disney, you know every detail helps tell each community’s story. At Asteria, those details start right at the entrance, where residents will be welcomed home through an entryway inspired by the Carolina landscape and enhanced with Disney storytelling.
A Warm Carolina Welcome
Like the broader community, the entryway at Asteria is designed with creative guidance from Walt Disney Imagineering to reflect the natural beauty and character of North Carolina’s Piedmont region.
- Natural Topography: The land sets the stage with topography that rises just beyond the entry before gently falling, creating a subtle reveal upon arrival.
- Locally Sourced Materials: Stone sourced directly from the site—including metavolcanic rock, quartz, and rhyolite—will be used throughout the entryway design. Built in the regional tradition of dry stacking, these materials directly connect the entrance to the land that inspired it.
- The Signature Moon Gate: One of the entryway’s key features is a moon gate—an arched gateway framing the landscape beyond. As residents and visitors pass through, it offers a memorable arrival moment and a preview of the thoughtful details planned across the community.
