Back to Hogwarts Season Brings Magical Treats, Merch, and More to Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood

Grab your robes, polish up that wand, and make sure your trunk is packed because Back to Hogwarts season is returning to both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. The celebration begins August 1 and runs through September 1, giving witches, wizards, and Muggles a full month to celebrate the start of the Hogwarts school year with limited-time treats, merchandise, entertainment, and plenty of house pride. This year’s celebration is extra magical as fans also mark 25 Years of Magic, honoring 25 years since the first Harry Potter film brought the wizarding world to the big screen.

At Universal Orlando Resort, guests can celebrate across all three Wizarding World lands, including Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure, Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida, and wizarding Paris inside The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Universal Epic Universe. Over in Hogsmeade, Hogwarts Always will light up Hogwarts Castle with music, projections, and plenty of school-year spirit, making it a perfect nighttime moment for anyone ready to head back to class. Guests may also spot the Hogwarts Express train conductor near the station, where he could have some extra advice for navigating the new term.

The Orlando celebration also comes with spellbinding sips, snacks, and souvenirs. A Harry Potter 25th Anniversary Butterbeer Mug will be available with Butterbeer at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure while supplies last. Universal is also expanding the Hogwarts House Ice Lollies to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe, in addition to their spot at Eternelle’s Elixir of Refreshment in Diagon Alley. The colorful treats include Hufflepuff with pineapple and milk chocolate, Gryffindor with peach and strawberry, Slytherin with coconut and matcha, and Ravenclaw with huckleberry and grape. Consider it house pride on a stick.

Universal Studios Hollywood is also getting in on the back-to-magical-school fun from August 1 through September 1. Guests visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter can pick up a limited-time Wizarding World of Harry Potter x Build-A-Bag from Lug, collect a complimentary Hogwarts house pride sticker at Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods, and try a Hogwarts House Linzer Cookie. The cookies come in four house-inspired flavors, including raspberry, sour apple, blueberry, and lemon curd. Gryffindor will be available throughout the event, while the other three houses will rotate during the celebration.

Hollywood guests will also want to keep an eye out for The Monster Book of Monsters on select dates during Back to Hogwarts. Brave witches and wizards can encounter Hagrid’s ancient book and even pet its spine, if they dare. Between the house stickers, treats, limited-time merchandise, and magical creature moment, Universal Studios Hollywood is making sure the school year starts with a little bite.

Fans on both coasts can also show off their Hogwarts style with the limited-time Wizarding World of Harry Potter x Build-A-Bag collection by Lug, available only inside the theme parks. The customizable collection lets guests mix and match bag styles, straps, charms, and accessories to create a magical park bag fit for spellbooks, souvenirs, and maybe a Chocolate Frog or two. At Universal Orlando Resort, guests can also practice their spells with Second Generation Interactive Wands across all three Wizarding World lands, featuring upgraded spellcasting effects with illumination and haptic feedback tied to each spell.
