Frontierland Boardwalk Disappears from Magic Kingdom Guidemaps as Piston Peak Transformation Continues

Another piece of Frontierland’s transformation has quietly arrived at Magic Kingdom. Disney has updated both its physical park guidemaps and the My Disney Experience digital map to remove the Frontierland boardwalk, signaling another step toward the future home of Piston Peak National Park.

While the wooden boardwalk itself still physically exists today, portions have already been blocked off to guests as construction continues. The removal from Disney’s official maps suggests the scenic walkway may soon close entirely, even before demolition begins. Previously, the boardwalk was clearly shown running alongside the main Frontierland pathway, offering guests a peaceful stroll with views overlooking the Rivers of America.

The change comes as work continues on Piston Peak National Park, the new Cars-inspired land announced for Magic Kingdom. Drawing inspiration from America’s national parks, including Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Rocky Mountains, the expansion will feature two new attractions. Guests will be able to experience an exciting off-road rally adventure along with a second family-friendly attraction. Disney has also introduced an original character for the area, Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore, a nod to classic Disney park storytelling.
