Stray Firework Shoots Toward Fantasmic Audience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios got a bit more excitement than they bargained for during last night’s performance of Fantasmic.

During the July 9th show, a stray pyrotechnic effect misfired from the lagoon stage and shot directly into the amphitheater seating area. A video captured by an audience member and shared on Reddit from user Pajamaetchi shows the moment the small firework traveled across the water and into the crowd, appearing to fizzle out just as it reached the stands.

Despite the freaky visual, eyewitnesses in the center stage viewing area report that the incident did not cause any panic. Guests sitting near the landing zone noted that the firework seemed to burn out safely in the air before making physical contact with anyone.

The performance continued without interruption, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios cast members kept the show running right through to the finale. No injuries have been reported, and the show went on just as normal for the rest of the evening.
