Ken Potrock Announces Retirement After Nearly 32 Years with The Walt Disney Company

A familiar leader in the Disney Parks world is preparing for his next adventure. Ken Potrock has announced that he will retire from The Walt Disney Company in early 2027, bringing to a close a career that has spanned nearly 32 years and some of Disney’s most recognizable businesses.

Potrock shared the news on LinkedIn, saying that while retirement is on the horizon, he has one more major assignment before hanging up his Disney name tag: helping deliver what he called “the biggest Super Bowl ever” in Los Angeles. After that, he and his wife Susanne plan to spend more time traveling, watching their two sons continue to thrive, and he even hinted at attending the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, joking that his first job selling Gallo wine may have been preparing him for the moment.

Disney fans will likely know Potrock best for serving as President of Disneyland Resort from 2020 through 2024. During his tenure, he helped guide the resort through its historic reopening following the pandemic and oversaw several major projects and milestones during a transformative period for the California parks.

Before leading Disneyland Resort, Potrock held a variety of executive leadership roles across the company. His resume includes serving as President of Disney Consumer Products and overseeing Disney Sports Enterprises, Disney Vacation Club, Golden Oak, and Adventures by Disney. He first joined Disney in 1995 as Vice President of Marketing for Disney Cruise Line, launching a career that touched nearly every corner of the company’s experiences business.
