New Permit Filed as Disney Continues Transforming MuppetVision Theater into Monstropolis’ Glob Theater
Construction on Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios continues to move forward, with Walt Disney Imagineering filing another permit tied to the future Glob Theater, the new show venue taking shape inside the former MuppetVision 3D theater.

The latest Notice of Commencement covers electrical work for the building and names Elite A/V Systems as the contractor. While that may not sound flashy, Disney fans who follow construction permits know the company is frequently involved in installing the technical backbone for attractions and entertainment experiences, including show lighting, audio, visual systems, and show control. It is another sign that work on the project is steadily progressing.
This is just the newest piece of the puzzle for the Glob Theater. Previous permits have already revealed contractors handling custom fabrication, scenic elements, staging, and additional audio visual work. Outside the building, crews have been busy transforming the former MuppetVision façade with scaffolding covering much of the exterior, while work inside has continued for months behind construction walls.

Disney has not yet announced what type of show will debut inside the Glob Theater, but many fans are hoping more details arrive during D23, which is just weeks away.
