Young Guest Slides Down 50-Foot Drop After Exiting Disney Ride

A scary situation unfolded at Disneyland Park this past weekend when a young guest exited a ride vehicle mid-attraction on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, leading to an immediate temporary closure of the ride.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2026. According to official reports, a 13-year-old guest exited his log vehicle prior to the end of the attraction. Disneyland Cast Members acted quickly to emergency-stop the ride immediately after the breach occurred.

Witness accounts from the scene state that the teenager exited the vehicle near the top of the attraction’s final, iconic 50-foot drop. Reports from onlookers are somewhat divided on exactly how the guest made his way down, with some stating he tumbled and others noting he slid backward down the flume drop.

One guest who was on the ride during the incident shared her experience online, noting that while the ride hit an initial emergency stop, it briefly resumed a few moments later just long enough to safely cycle the remaining guests off the logs. Upon exiting, she observed six Disneyland security personnel on-scene, alongside a mother and two children who were visibly shaken and soaked.

Thankfully, the situation did not turn into a major tragedy. As a standard safety precaution, the teenager was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated, where he was subsequently released.

Following the incident, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure remained closed for the rest of Sunday evening so teams could assess the attraction. Disney maintenance and safety protocols worked overnight, and we can confirm that the popular attraction is fully open and operating normally today.

This serves as an important reminder for all theme park visitors: for your safety and the safety of those around you, always remain fully seated with your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the ride vehicle at all times until a Cast Member instructs you to unload.
