Photos from bioreconstruct show new A-frame supports that were installed over the weekend at the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift construction site, marking another major milestone for the highly anticipated roller coaster replacing Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. The towering steel supports now stand within a large curved section of track that has been taking shape over the past several weeks.

The newly installed A-frames help support a dramatic section of the coaster and add even more visual evidence of just how massive Hollywood Drift will be when completed. Additional ride supports have also been added nearby as crews continue assembling the attraction’s complex track layout.

Perhaps the most eye-catching feature currently under construction remains the coaster’s massive spike element. Reaching approximately 170 feet into the air, the spike will serve as a dead-end section of track where ride vehicles race upward before stopping and reversing direction. While the structure is already dominating the skyline, additional track still needs to be installed before the element is complete.

The rapid pace of construction has become increasingly noticeable from throughout Universal Studios Florida, with new track and support structures appearing almost weekly. As work continues, guests are getting a better sense of the scale and intensity Universal is aiming for with its newest thrill ride.
