Live-Action Moana Tickets Are on Sale Now + New Trailer Dropped
Hold onto your sails, Disney fans! Tickets for Disney’s live-action Moana are officially on sale!
To celebrate tickets going on sale, Disney just dropped an all-new trailer giving us an incredible look at this epic cinematic voyage. The film is set to sail exclusively into theaters on July 10, 2026, and you are definitely going to want to experience this one on the biggest screen possible.

We already knew the live-action cast was going to be spectacular, but Disney just shared some shiny new casting news that has us shouting, “You’re welcome!”
The brilliant Jemaine Clement is officially reprising his role as the voice of the giant, glitz-obsessed crab, Tamatoa—the exact same character he famously voiced in the 2016 animated masterpiece. We can’t wait to see how his glamorous, treasure-hoarding character translates to live-action!
Clement joins a phenomenal ensemble of Pacific talent, including:
- Catherine Lagaʻaia as the determined wayfinder, Moana
- Dwayne Johnson reprising his legendary role as the trickster demigod, Maui
- Rena Owen as Moana’s revered Gramma Tala
- John Tui as Moana’s no-nonsense father, Chief Tui
- Frankie Adams as Moana’s playful and strong-willed mother, Sina
This live-action retelling brings the beloved Oscar-nominated animated adventure to life like never before. The story follows Moana as she answers the Ocean’s call and voyages beyond the reef of her island of Motunui alongside Maui on an unforgettable journey to restore prosperity to her people.
Bringing this massive vision to life is Emmy and Tony Award winner Thomas Kail (Hamilton), who serves as director.
The film boasts a powerhouse production team, produced by Dwayne Johnson, p.g.a., Beau Flynn, p.g.a., Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, p.g.a., and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Original animated Moana star Auliʻi Cravalho serves as an executive producer alongside Scott Sheldon, Charles Newirth, and Kail.
Best of all? The movie will feature the iconic original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foaʻi, and Mark Mancina, with a beautiful original score composed by Mancina. Get ready to sing your heart out in the theater!
