The Muppets and Sesame Street Join Madonna and Shakira for World Cup Final
History is in the making as The Muppets prepare to share the stage with Madonna, Shakira, and BTS for the inaugural FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show. This star-studded spectacle is set to take place at the New York New Jersey Stadium on July 19, 2026, marking a massive collision of pop culture icons and global sports.

Curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, the halftime spectacular was born from a viral brainstorming session featuring Martin alongside Elmo, Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Animal. Beyond the glitz, the performance serves a higher purpose: raising vital funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund to expand access to quality schooling and football programs for children globally.
As Martin puts it, the show is a celebration of diversity, designed as “a chance to show how amazing all different kinds of humans are.”
In a brilliant crossover move, the Sesame Street Muppets are joining the Fox Sports broadcast team to bring a fresh perspective to the pitch. The lineup features:

- Oscar the Grouch: Keeping it spicy as the host of “Trash Talk.”
