Disney World Just Beat Major U.S. Cities as One of America’s Most Photographed Destinations

Honestly, this might be the least surprising Disney statistic ever. A new report analyzing millions of uploaded photos from 2025 has revealed that Walt Disney World ranks among the top five most photographed places in the entire United States, beating out cities like Miami, San Francisco, Washington D.C., and Houston.

The study, conducted by photo-printing app Popsa, looked at location metadata from customer photos to determine where Americans were snapping the most pictures. And somehow, tiny little Bay Lake, Florida, home to Walt Disney World, managed to outshine some of the biggest cities in the country.

The top five rankings came in as:

• New York
• Los Angeles
• Las Vegas
• Bay Lake (Walt Disney World)
• Chicago

That means Disney World landed ahead of major tourism powerhouses including Miami, San Diego, and San Francisco. Not bad for a city basically powered by fireworks, Mickey pretzels, and aggressively staged castle photos.

The report specifically called out Cinderella Castle as the “hero shot” of Walt Disney World, which honestly tracks. There are probably more photos of that castle floating around the internet than there are actual bricks in the structure itself. Between family vacation photos, engagement shoots, first trip pictures, and influencers attempting to clear Main Street at rope drop for the perfect shot, Disney’s icon stays busy.

The study also highlighted nighttime views from the Tomorrowland bridge during Happily Ever After, which longtime Disney fans already know is one of the sneakiest elite fireworks photo spots in Magic Kingdom.

EPCOT also got some camera love thanks to Spaceship Earth, because apparently nobody can resist stopping mid-walk to say, “Wait, take my picture in front of the golf ball.”

Outside the parks, the report even pointed to Celebration and Lake Eola as popular nearby photography spots for visitors looking to capture more Central Florida scenery beyond the Disney bubble.

Let’s be real though… Disney adults could have told you this study for free. Half the population of Magic Kingdom walks around with portable chargers specifically dedicated to keeping their phone camera alive through fireworks. 📱✨
