Fore-get the Parks? Disney World’s Golf Courses Are a Hidden Vacation Gem
When most people think about Walt Disney World vacations, they picture rope dropping TRON, snacking around EPCOT, or sprinting to mobile order a cheeseburger spring roll before the line wraps into Adventureland. But tucked away beyond the castles and coasters is one of Disney World’s most underrated experiences: golf. And honestly? It’s kind of a hole-in-one way to escape the park chaos for a few hours. ⛳

Disney World is home to four golf courses, two miniature golf locations, and even FootGolf, which is exactly what it sounds like: soccer meets golf with oversized holes and plenty of family competition fuel.
The headliner is Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course near Magic Kingdom, which recently added a brand-new challenge called Grumpy’s Gauntlet. The four redesigned holes are packed with giant bunkers, tricky greens, and Disney-inspired details that make even seasoned golfers sweat harder than someone speed-walking through Toy Story Land in July.
Each hole on Magnolia carries Disney-themed names and references, blending classic golf course design with little touches of Disney storytelling. Plus, where else can you pose next to a statue of Grumpy before immediately becoming grumpy yourself after landing in a bunker?
Next door, Disney’s Palm Golf Course offers another championship-level experience with winding fairways, tropical landscaping, and enough water hazards to make you start bargaining with the golf gods halfway through the round. Meanwhile, Lake Buena Vista Golf Course near Disney Springs gives golfers a slightly more relaxed vibe while still offering a course layout that has hosted PGA and LPGA events in the past.
If 18 holes sounds a little too ambitious during a Disney vacation filled with park hopping and Lightning Lanes, Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course is a solid alternative. The nine-hole walking course is family-friendly, beginner-friendly, and happens to be home to Disney’s FootGolf experience. Imagine trying to play soccer while your competitive uncle insists on keeping score like it’s the Masters. That’s basically the energy.
Then there’s Disney’s mini golf scene, which somehow feels peak 1990s Disney in the absolute best way possible.
Winter Summerland near Blizzard Beach is still one of the most charming mini golf spots on property, featuring two Christmas-themed courses where Santa apparently decided Florida needed snow and surfboards at the same time. One course leans beachy and tropical while the other goes full North Pole chaos with giant ornaments, hockey sticks, and snowmen spraying water at unsuspecting golfers.
Over by the EPCOT resort area, Fantasia Gardens and Fairways offers arguably the prettiest mini golf course on Disney property. The Fantasia-themed course is packed with dancing hippos, broomsticks, fountains, and whimsical obstacles, while the Fairways side turns mini golf into a legitimate challenge that can humble even the cockiest putter in your vacation group.

Disney also offers PGA golf lessons, club rentals, driving ranges, and exclusive golf merchandise if you’re looking to fully commit to your country club era during your vacation.
Honestly, Disney golf feels like one of those experiences longtime Disney fans know about but casual visitors completely overlook. And with so many guests packing the parks this summer, spending a morning on the greens before heading to Disney Springs for lunch or back to Magic Kingdom for fireworks honestly sounds pretty magical.
Just remember: losing a golf ball in the water hazard still hurts, even when Mickey is on the scorecard. ⛳✨
