Recent images show that sections of the castle previously hidden behind scrims, including the iconic dining hall façade, have now been revealed. While scaffolding still wraps several towers like a wizard’s winter cloak, the newly exposed areas are offering a glimpse into the next phase of the refurbishment.

One detail that had fans raising their wands in concern was the castle’s temporary gray appearance. At first glance, it looked like Hogwarts had traded its weathered stone charm for something a bit too… muggle minimal. But these latest views confirm that the gray is simply a base coat.

Crews are actively layering multiple tones over that base to recreate the aged, timeworn stone look that gives Hogwarts its centuries-old character. Think less “fresh paint” and more “ancient castle that has seen a few magical mishaps and a dragon or two.” The effect is designed to add depth, texture, and that signature wizarding world realism once completed.

Scaffolding remains in place across several towers, indicating that work is still ongoing across different sections of the structure. From above, you can see the careful progression as teams move across the castle, bringing each piece back to life one stone at a time.
